WE’VE ELOPED!

Blake and Melody were married on January 22nd, 2009 at the courthouse in Decatur, Georgia at 2 o’clock pm. It was a beautiful day, about sixty degrees and not a cloud in the sky.
When we became engaged in August we did not realize how much we needed to get done by April 25th, our originally planned wedding date. As you may know, we recently changed that date to October 24th, 2009, which happens to be our four-year anniversary. At first, it seemed so relieving because we knew we would have more time to plan for parties and make all the wedding arrangements.
There was still one thing about it that just didn’t seem right though, we had to wait EVEN LONGER to get married!
After spending some quiet time together in the mountains last week, we came to some significant realizations about our love and our relationship.
It is honest, sweet, and we fell in love with each other at first sight. We saw no reason to continue with the complicated wedding plans that kept changing. As soon as we returned to the city we did all that we could to figure out how to have a simple courthouse wedding. We needed two witnesses (we chose our mothers) and identification.
Though we would have loved for everyone to be there, we didn’t want to put any unnecessary pressure on all of our friends and loved ones... especially on such short notice. We hope no one is disappointed and we meant no disrespect by being indecisive.
We are still having a big, beautiful reception where we will exchange vows and everyone is invited. It is going to be a formal garden reception in Winder, Georgia on April 25th, 2009. Your traditional invitations will be mailed to you soon!
We would love for you to join us for this joyous occasion.
Yours Truly, Mr. & Mrs. Germain
